Kwara State Polytechnic; The Citadel of Knowledge, Citadel of Excellence

The great Citadel of Knowledge was Established by his Excellency, the then Military Governor of Kwara State, Col. David Bamigboye in 1973. The decision to establish the Polytechnic was announced during the launching of the four Year Development plan in 1971.


Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has been officially accredited and/or recognized by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Nigeria. 

  

The polytechnic has six institutes namely:

I.I.C.T - Institutes of information and communication technology, I.O.T - Institute of Technology, I.F.M.S - Institute of Finance Management, I.A.S - Institute of Applied Science, I.E.S - Institute of Environmental Studies and I.G.S - Institute of General Studies which has no students in the department due to some reason. 


Our Polytechnic which we are so proud of is among the best polytechnic in NorthCentral Nigeria.

In her effort to provide the State, the Country and World best graduates, the polytechnic retrained their staffs, employed more capable and erudite lecturers and also got the Higher National Diploma in the Department of Mass Communication accredited. 


As a citadels of learning which is leading in entrepreneurship, the Polytechnic has restored back various means of generating funds such as the Kwarapoly Bread and water which has gained recognition across the state and beyond. 


Also the Kwarapoly Radio Station 88.5 FM which is competing with other commercial radio station. 


Our dear institution is known for modest, hard work as it has zero tolerance for indecency, malpractices, extortion among other vices. We nurtured talents, Fulfills Dream, Destinies, Hopes and Aspirations.


Our great polytechnic that we are so proud of, We love you for you are the Heaven of Bright Mind with Great Ideas.

A Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, Kwara State Polytechnic Ilorin, Mr. Olufadi Balarabe Ayuba has bagged an outstanding leadership award in Oyo state.  The award was presented at the Annual Leadership Summit organized by the National Association of Oyo Students, Kwara State Polytechnic Chapter, at the Atiba Town Hall, Oja Akesan Oyo State.
