KWSG Commences Maternal Health Week, Offers Free Services to Mothers, Pregnant Women and Children

Polio Vaccination: Kwara State Government Flags Off NIPDs

​ Kwara has not recorded any incidence of polio disease in recent years - Elelu The Kwara State Government has flagged off the National Immunisation Plus Days (NIPDs) campaign in a continued pursuit of the drive aimed at strengthening the immunity of the children and sustaining the protective mechanism against the incidence of polio disease in the state. The flag off ceremony which had several traditional leaders in attendance, was convened at the palace of His Eminence, Dr Ibrahim Zulu Gambari, signalling the commencement of the vaccination exercise for children aged between 0 to 59 months, irrespective of their previous immunization status. IEDPU praises Nagode on Olufadi Clinic

​ As all is set for the commissioning of the Olufadi Maternity and Child Referral Centre, Ilorin, today, Thursday, September 21,2023, the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union,the umbrella sociocultural organisation of the good people of Ilorin Emirate in Kwara State, has commended the Executive Director,Finance, Nigerian National Petroleum Company PLC,Dr Abdulkadir Tunji Nagode, for facilitating the project. Kwara wins NGF healthcare delivery award, rated best state in North Central

​ Kwara State has been rated the best state in basic healthcare delivery in the entire North Central region, beating Abuja the Federal Capital Territory and other North Central states, to clinch the first position.  At an event held in Abuja on Wednesday night, the state won the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF)’s Primary Healthcare Leadership Challenge award for the improvement recorded in the sector in the last four years.  The NGF Primary Health Care Leadership Challenge was consumated in 2019 as part of the 'Seatle Declaration', which assesses overall performance of primary healthcare delivery using indicators like ‘government’s support and commitment, quality of service delivery, improvement in the health indices and outcomes, community participation and ownership, among others’.  Commissioner for Health Dr Raji Razaq and the Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency Dr. Nusirat Elelu received the award on behalf of the state.  Go...

KwaraPoly: Students to enjoy free medical treatment

​ BY: BAMIDELE OLUWAKEMI OMOBOLANLE Kwara state polytechnic medical center has promised the entire students of the department that they will enjoy free medical treatment.  This was gathered in an interview with Doctor Mrs Rukayat Uthman, the Coordinator, medical service, Kwara state polytechnic medical centre. She said students should register for medical treatment as the school authority has made enough provision for free treatment under National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). She added that all this could be done when students provide their evidence of identification as students either with their Students ID card or payment slip to the record unit of the medical centre to acquire the medical card. Dr Uthman furthered that students should not abuse drugs by taking unprescribed drugs, or taking drugs without following doctor's prescription. Kwarapoly management provides laboratory building to aid medical treatment

​ By: JIMOH RODIAT ADEPEJU  The Management of Kwara State Polytechnic has provided a new laboratory building for the school medical center.  In an interview with one of the nurse, Nurse Ojo, who belongs to the nursing unit, said the new laboratory will aid in medical treatment.  She added that it extend and open the medical center to other opportunities such that they are able to take some test they could not be possible back in then.  Nurse ojo further included that the laboratory which was only meant for the students and staff before as now been extended to the general public.
