Kwarapoly Rector commissions Mass Com practical studio, others facilitated by past Excos

The Rector and the HOD of the Department of Mass Communication during the commissioning. 



The Rector, Kwara State Polytechnic, Engr. (Dr) Jimoh Muhammed Abdul on Tuesday commissioned the Department of Mass Communication Practical Studio, Public Relation Units and Seminar hall facilitated by the immediate past executive led by Comr. Mustapha Lanre. 


The Rector, during the commissioning, commended the Head of the Department, Mr. AbdulRasheed Sadudeen, staffs, past executives and students of the department for the achievement, adding that it is a laudable project.

In a clique chat with the Pioneer HOD of the Department, Mr. Muibi Babatunde Lawal, the rector said he is glad with the accreditation of the department HND, as it will enable the students to further their education in the institution and carry on with their career. 


Engr. Abdul commended the state government for their support in the establishment of KwaraPoly Radio and also formed part of the reason why the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) gave the institution accreditation in Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication.

The rector also commended the management team for their immense support. 


Also speaking during the clique chat, the Pioneer Head of Department, Mass Communication, Mr. MB Lawal commended the Rector, saying that one of the greatest achievements of the present administration in the polytechnic is the mounting of the Higher National Diploma in the department of Mass Communications which is commendable. 


He said the department has produced students in thousands and for a very long time they have been wondering where to  do their HND program as they are eager to have it at where they had their National Diploma.

“Since the present rector came, we have always pressed upon him to give us the HND program, I am happy today that the program is alive and thriving and we are about producing the first set of HND in the polytechnic”. 


He recalled that less than 6 month after the commencement of the ND program, the department produced the first edition of “Campus Echoes” which was commended by the then rector as some long existing polytechnic have not achieved such, adding that the department will be introducing Something much more laudable soon.

commended the rector for his massive support towards the success of their project, adding that the commissioning was possible due to the assistant the management rendered to the department.

He said the practical studio will serve as an avenue for the broadcast sequence students of mass communications to have better knowledge and understanding of what is in the outside world, adding that the PR unit is for the print sequence student to have their own practicals. 


Sadudeen who commended the past executives of the department for the structures they put up, also appreciated the support of the students for making the event colorful.

He however charged the students to always have the mindset of giving back to the society wherever they found themselves. 



In an interview with Prime News, the erstwhile President of the Department of Mass Communication, Comrade Mustapha Lanre said the project was possible as a result of the smooth relationship between the student union and the department. 


“Today is the most achievable day of my life. I did not believe this will turn out this way but I am glad, with the support of everyone coming out today to celebrate the achievements of mass communication department because the achievements is not mine alone but the whole department”. He 


He therefore commended the Head of the Department, staffs, his executives and all students of the department for their support in making the program achievable.

  3. Everything said here was totally nothing but a big lie.
    Aside the 3k payment for convocation they now increased it from 3300 to 5300 whereas many of us are having hard time paying that formal payment, so now that they increased it with 2k how are we supposed see money...they are making life a hell for us ....say No to extortion, many of us are sending ourselves to school no backup please.
