NUJ: Kwara Council mourn veteran journalist Ibrahim Salami, commiserate with families

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kwara State Council has commiserated with the family and associates of a Veteran Photo-Journalist, Alhaji Ibrahim Salami.

Salami, fondly called 'Tallest' is an ace photographer and head of the photographic units of The Herald, National Pilot Newspapers and the defunct People's Advocate at different times, died at his residence on Saturday at the age of 75 after a brief illness.


In a statement issued in Ilorin on Saturday, and jointly signed by the state NUJ Chairman Abdullateef 'Lanre Ahmed and Secretary Comrade Omotayo Ayanda, respectively said Alhaji Salami exited at a time the Council should be sipping from his ocean of wisdom and experience.


The Union, however, beseeched the Almighty God to grant the deceased eternal rest and comfort the bereaved family.

In the same vein the National League of Veteran Journalists (NALVEJ) in Kwara State has mourned the death of its auditor, Alhaji Ibrahim Salami, popularly known as Tallest.


NALVEJ in a condolence message signed by its chairman, Alh Tunde Akanbi and the publicity secretary, Alh Abdullahi Olesin, said it received the death of one of its active members with heavy heart.


He has since been buried according to Muslim rites at his private residence, off Airport road, Ilorin, Kwara State.

KwaraPoly: Students commends management for new development

​ By: LUKMAN ROKEEB OLAIDE The Students of Kwara State Polytechnic has commend the effort of the rector, Dr Abdul Jimoh Muhammad over there aiming for prosperity and implore them not to relent on there administration. The Students also commends their efforts on new development in the campus such as the solar street light, the diagnostic center amongst others.  According to one of the students, Saliu Ibrahim from quantity survey opines that the management should have the monitoring teams in which will helps to curb the abuse of the school properties.  In the same vein, another student, Aliyu Muhammad from Urban and Regional Planning said the rector has really done a lot and even they are trying there best towards renewing the school. The students therefore urge the rector and school management to extend the solar street light to Yankari and other places in the institution.
