Rector Commiserates With Bamidele Family, Kwarapoly Community Over Student Death.

The Rector, Kwara State Polytechnic, Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh Muhammed has expressed sadness over the demise of a National Diploma two (ND 2) Electrical Electronic Engineering Student, Abdulqoyum Bamidele.  In a statement issued and signed by the spokesperson of the Polytechnic, Mrs Halimat Garba, disclosed that the sad incident allegedly took place on Wednesday September 4, 2024 around the GRA in ilorin. According to the statement, the circumstances around the young and promising student's death is still dicy as there were many unconfirmed stories and narrative around it. ILORIN DURBAR: A Historic Celebration

Indigenes and non-indigenes alike gathered before the Emir of Ilorin, Alh. Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari (CFR), to commemorate Durbar and reconnect not only with the people and friends of Ilorin Emirate but also with their cultural heritage, reminding them of their glorious past to further promote and preserve the people's increasingly vanishing cultural heritage. Durbar festival is usually celebrated on the second day following Eid-Fitri. It begins with prayers, is followed by a horse-drawn parade of the Emir and his entourage, accompanied by musicians, and concludes at the Emir's palace. Durbar festivals are held in cities such as Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, Zaria, and Bida, which are popular tourist destinations.
