KwaraPoly: IICT Legislative Body set to empower students with working tools

The Students Parliamentary Council, Information and Communications Technology Students Association (ICTSA), Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin said it is set to empower students of the institute with tools that can aid them in their course of workmanship.

In a statement by the The Rt. Hon. Speaker, Hon. Lekan Tajudeen, signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Hon. Shifau Olanrewaju, four (4) students have been selected to benefits from the program.

Hon. Lekan said the program is borne out of giving back to the student, and making an everlasting impact in the lives of the students, and also to encourage students on the importance of entrepreneurship in Nigeria economy today.

He furthered that the program will be the first of it kind not just in the history of the institute, but in the polytechnic as a whole, adding that he believed that for their administration to kick start such great initiative, it will be patronized by administration to come in the future.

“We believed that investing in the lives of our students is what really makes us their representative, and not prioritizing our own interest and telling the students that they are the first,” he added.

The Parliamentarian however expressed regret that they can only grant the wish of four (4) students in getting tools needed in their respective fields out of the total number of students in the institute, saying that he hope that it will be expanded to many other students in the future.

“It is a great privilege that our administration started it and be believe we have laid down a good foundation for generations to come”, he said.

Recalled that the Speaker has pledged to contribute to the life of the students when he was a guest at the National Association of Mass Communication Students (NAMCOS) Legislative Council.

He therefore invited the entire students of the polytechnic and members of the general public to grace the occasion which is scheduled to hold on 1st of June 2023 at Prof. Wright Conference Hall.
