Rector Commiserates with Governor, KWASU Management over Akanbi's Death


The Rector, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Engr. Abdul Jimoh Muhammed has described the death of the Vice Chancellor, Kwara State University, Malete, Professor Muhammad Mustapha Olarongbe Aremu Akanbi as a massive loss to the University community and the State at large.


The Rector in a condolence message  described the late Prof. Akanbi as a seasoned and deligent administrator that delivered good workplace ethics and contributed to the overall development of his institution.


Abdul disclosed that the Vice Chancellor who is a great asset known for his creative ideas and impressive approach to work will be greatly missed in the academia.


The condolence message which was issued and signed by the Polytechnic Public Relations Officer, Hajia Halimat Garba commiserated with the Executive Governor of the State, Mall. AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. Afeez Abolore Alabi and the entire KWASU community, noting that late Akanbi was an excellent and exceptional administrator whose dedication and efforts had set new records for others to follow.


Abdul stressed that the entire Polytechnic community is extremely saddened to hear about the painful death of the Vice Chancellor.


According to the message, "the entire Polytechnic community deeply mourn the sad demise of Professor Muhammad Mustapha Olarongbe Aremu Akanbi  and with deepest sense of grief, we Commiserate with His Excellency, Mall. AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, the Commissioner, Ministry of Tertiary Education, Dr Afeez Abolore Alabi, the families of the deceased and the entire people of Kwara State."


"During his life time, Prof. Akanbi was known for his extraordinary professional skills and commitment to the development of education sector in the State. He will always be remembered for his tremendous contributions to the University."


The Rector prayed Allah to accept his return, forgive his shortcomings and give the University, family members and entire Kwarans the fortitude to bear  the irreparable loss.
