Sobi FM's Senior and Award-Winning Reporter, Dare Akogun has departed Nigeria to Egypt to cover the forthcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference, UNFCCC, commonly tagged "COP27".
His accreditation was concluded, and participation confirmed, last week in an email, sent by the UNFCCC IBC Manager, Tim Davies, in which he indicated that, one Workstation has been reserved for SOBI FM at the Media Centre of the event.
It would be recalled that, Sobi FM reported last week that, it has emerged the only Nigerian radio station to cover the conference, beginning from tomorrow, the 6th to 18th of November, 2022.
ADVERT:
Akogun who took off from the Muritala Mohammed International Airport Lagos on Saturday, will be on ground to give live reports, on the 27th United Nations Climate Change conference, that will hold in the coastal town of Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
Climate change is a long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns, that seems to affect the quality of the environment, in negative ways, such that it becomes a matter of grave concern to world leaders, who have tried to limit those human activities that contribute to it.
Some of the adverse effects of climate change is excessive rainfall, resulting in over-flooding, as recently witnesses in Nigeria recently, or acute lack of rainfall (draught) in some parts of the world.
