Kwara State Polytechnic over the years had been underrated to have ever produce noble products. But wittingly or unwittingly to them, our products are everywhere. 


Some months back, some crappy people tried to drag the name of the institution into the mud by attaching all sorts of bad names to her personality.

Such people I call them illiterate, unschooled and uninformed about great people in the society that our dear Polytechnic has impacted positively in their lives. Amongst many of them are;


Saheed Kolawole Alabi Balogun, popularly known as Saheed Balogun, born in Kwara State on February 5th, 1967. He is a Nigerian actor, film-maker, director and producer. He had his Primary and Secondary educations in Kwara State and also his first degree at the Kwara State Polytechnic where he studied statistics.  

Balogun was married to a Nigerian Actress, Fathia Balogun but was separated in 2014. Together they have two children. Balogun has moved on with a new love with a beautiful lady called Funke Tayo Sofowora.



Second is Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim, a Nigerian politician and senator representing Kwara South Senatorial District. He was born in 1967 in Kwara State. He attended Ojoku Grammar School where he obtained his West Africa School Certificate in 1985 before proceeding to Kwara State Polytechnic where he graduated in 1987.


In the 2015 elections, he contested for the seat of the Kwara South Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress and emerged winner.


The third person is the famous Nigerian pastor, Bishop David Oyedepo. He was born on 27th September 1954 in Oshogbo. 

Oyedepo studied architecture at the Kwara State Polytechnic Ilorin. He also received a PhD in Human Development from Honolulu University, Hawaii, US.


Ever since he founded the Living Faith World Outreach Ministry in 1981, it has grown to become one of Africa’s largest congregations. The Faith Tabernacle, where he hosts three services every Sunday, is Africa’s largest worship center, with a seating capacity of 50,000. Oyedepo owns four private jets and homes in London and the United States. He also owns Dominion Publishing House, a thriving publishing company that publishes all his books. He founded and owns Covenant University, one of Nigeria’s leading tertiary institutions, and Faith Academy, an elite high school.

     

He is currently married to Pastor Faith Abiola Oyedepo and they both have four lovely children together.

    

The fourth person is Fathia Williams, a Nigerian actress, Filmmaker, Producer and Director. The veteran actor have made great influence in the Nigeria Industry.

Faithia, who is of Delta state descent, was born in Ikeja in February 1969. She attended Maryland grade school and Maryland Comprehensive school in Lagos state, where she obtained the West African School Certificate before she proceeded to Kwara State Polytechnic where she received a diploma certificate.


Williams has starred, produced and directed several Nigerian films over the years. In 2008, she won the Africa movie Academy Award for the most Outstanding Actress Indigenous and her movie Iranse Aje won the best indigenous film of the year. In April 2014, she won the Africa Movie Academy Award, having emerged as best actress of the year alongside Odunlade Adekola who emerged as best actor of the year. Williams was formerly married to a veteran nollywood actor, Saheed Balogun, with whom she has two children, a son and a daughter.

A Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, Kwara State Polytechnic Ilorin, Mr. Olufadi Balarabe Ayuba has bagged an outstanding leadership award in Oyo state.  The award was presented at the Annual Leadership Summit organized by the National Association of Oyo Students, Kwara State Polytechnic Chapter, at the Atiba Town Hall, Oja Akesan Oyo State.
