KwaraPoly NAYLL: OTM emerges winner of Inter Departmental Debate, awarded “Department of the Year”

The Department of Office Technology and Management (OTM), Kwara State Polytechnic, on Wednesday, emerged as the winner and awarded “Best Department of the Year Award” of the New African Youth Leadership League(LEAGUE) first inter departmental debate. 


The debate which was tagged “Rep Your Department” was held at Lecture Theater (LR41), Institute of Basic Applied Science (IBAS) building, Kwara State Polytechnic. 


OTM Representative at the debate, Ajani Oluwatoyin Elizabeth emerges winner among four other participants from departments of Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Mass Communication respectively. 


Department of Civil Engineering, who was represented by Hamzat Abdul Lateef came Second, Kolawole AbdulAkeem Damilola from Mass Communication came third and Abdul Raheem Olanrewaju Shehu from Computer Science came fourth position 


In his comment, the Patron of the Association, Mr. Oderinde Obafemi, also the Deputy Director, Center for Continuing Education, Kwara State Polytechnic, commended the initiative of the executives for introducing such program which will enable students to know the significance of their course of study. 


He therefore urged the students to always be ready to learn by paying attention to people when they hear new things and always be ready to learn. 


In his opening remarks, NAYLL President, Lekan Tajudeen, explained that the intention of the association for organizing such activity is to build up students courage to face the crowd, build themselves academically and to also know the importance of their course of study to humanity. 


He furthered stated that no department should be underrated as every courses has their unique selling points, adding students should endeavors to understand them as to be proud of what they study. 


Tajudeen however advised students to stop seeing themselves as an accident of their department, but should rather develop interest in it as to tell the world that they are best. 


Judges at the event are; The CCE Deputy Director, Mr. Oderinde Obafemi, The Students Union Government President, Sen. Ishola AbdulSalam (Gigabyte)and a Community Developer, Mr. Adebayo Usman Adeyinka


Guests at the event included; The SUG Speaker, Rt. Hon. Jamiu Babatunde and some members of the Students Representatives Council (SRC), NAMCOS President, Sen. Adeyeye Adejare (CeeJay) and some other

KwaraPoly: Students commends management for new development

​ By: LUKMAN ROKEEB OLAIDE The Students of Kwara State Polytechnic has commend the effort of the rector, Dr Abdul Jimoh Muhammad over there aiming for prosperity and implore them not to relent on there administration. The Students also commends their efforts on new development in the campus such as the solar street light, the diagnostic center amongst others.  According to one of the students, Saliu Ibrahim from quantity survey opines that the management should have the monitoring teams in which will helps to curb the abuse of the school properties.  In the same vein, another student, Aliyu Muhammad from Urban and Regional Planning said the rector has really done a lot and even they are trying there best towards renewing the school. The students therefore urge the rector and school management to extend the solar street light to Yankari and other places in the institution. KwaraPoly: Rector commissions NAPAS lecture room renovated by 1996 Alumni set

​               PC: CeeJay Photos The Kwara State Polytechnic Rector, Engr. Jimoh Abdul Muhammed on Thursday commissioned the Department of Accountancy lecture room renovated by the Kwarapoly Accountancy Students Alumni Association (KASAA), 1996 set.  The Rector in his address, commended National Association of Polytechnic Accountancy Students (NAPAS) 1996 alumni set for taking the leadership to renovate the lecture room for the students, saying it is the first alumni project since his inception in office.  Engr.
