KwaraPoly CORASS, an online system for submitting research work under ENGR. Jimoh Abdul Muhammed

The Management of Kwara State Polytechnic, under the leadership of our pilot, Engr. Jimoh Abdul Muhammed, has approved the use of Centralized Online Research Assessment and Submission System (CORASS) for the Final Year and SIWES students to submit their Project Research Work and SIWES technical report respectively.

CORASS made it possible for students to have the access to re-access their submitted report anytime, monitoring the progress of their project and also have the access to check their grades prior to the final result approval electronically.

likewise, Lecturers are able to electronically assess, adjust, correct and grade project report submitted by the students at the Comfort of their home. The system is enbadded with plagiarism checker to enhance the quality of final year project and siwes report emanating from Kwara State Polytechnic.

Through the use of CORASS, both the students and the Lecturers find it easier to submit and assess the final year project and siwes report, compare to the traditional mode whereby project research are been submitted using the hand written manual script.

CORASS Portal is been manage and monitored by MR IBRAHIM ISMAIL, who is the CORASS PORTAL MANAGER of Kwara State Polytechnic and it has been in existence since the last academic session of academic (2021/2022 Academy Session).

There are many significance of Corass to the Stakeholders Which are: The Students, The Lecturers and The Polytechnic Management.

It significance from the part of the Students as the first stakeholders is that with Corass, Students are able to submit their project research report through the use of their mobile phone at the comfort of they home. Also in Corass there's something called *PAS* Which is the “ Project Acknowledgement Slips" printed by students after online submission which will give assurances to students which can stand as evidence when cases of omission and missing project grade arises.

ADVERT:

Also with Corass Students will spend lesser amount of money in Typesetting and Biding of Hardcopies of project and siwes reports.

It significance on the part of the Lecturers which are the second stakeholders, is that Lecturers now have access to soft copies of their supervised project reports at their fingertips compare to then that they have only the hard copies of the project submitted to them by the students.

Also Corass will give Lecturers the opportunity in reviewing past project report for their personal use for Onward processing into Journals, Textbooks and Articles. This will enhance the development among the academic staff of the Polytechnic.

Lastly is the part of the Polytechnic Management. for the management after all project has been submitted, Hardcopies of the project occupy alot of spaces at the e-library and at the department, which the management and the department dispose later. But through the use of Corass the institute can make easily take care of projects by storing it on their archive for future referencing.

CORASS is a new addition to the numerous achievements of Engr. Dr. Jimoh Abdul Muhammed, and also the first of its kind in tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
