Lokoja University: FASSS Excos Launches Administrative Project, Donates Lecture podiums, waste bins

Just few weeks to the end of the current administration, the executive arm, Faculty Association of social science students FASSS, Federal University Lokoja has successfully initiated and commissioned not less than 3 major projects spread across the faculty.


The president of the Association, Comr. Matthew David disclosed this Wednesday 5th July at the grand commissioning of 3 mega lecture podiums held at the faculty square. 


According to him, the 2021/2022 administration under his leadership has been able to strategically deliver 18 waste baskets, 5 new white boards which is a partnership project with the university management and 3 lecture podium in the faculty.


“We figured out that the state of the faculty were in disarray. There was lots of anarchy going on especially with the disposal of refuse. We swung into action and procured waste baskets for all the classrooms of the faculty and we were able to do that. He stated


He reiterated that the project was birthed to facilitate effective learning of students of the faculty averring that his administration remains committed to deliver its mandate and set a standard for continuous emulation


He also noted that the executives through the directive of the dean of faculty have set up a task force to monitor and sustain a high level of cleanliness and orderliness across the faculty.


He however implored students of the faculty to play their parts by paying their dues, respect rules and regulations and give maximum support to aid more projects.


“The job is not yet done there is still a lot of things to do in the faculty before we leave this administration but I know that with the cooperation of students we can deliver there is room for improvement so much room for improvement of you pay your dues and you respect the constituted authorities and you obey all rules and regulations”


The Dean, faculty of social science, prof. S.D Musa who was ably represented by his Deputy, prof. Ibrahim Samuel commended the efforts of the executives and admonished the students to put in judicious use all that has been provided.


A representative from the Student affairs Division, Mr. jide Okinwoye, in his remark stated that the faculty executives have earned themselves the pathfinder tittle .


He said This will be the first time I will witness that students are donating something like this. I want to congratulate the entire students of this faculty, most especially the executives. For you to have sat down and thought of something like this 


 The treasurer of the union, Comr. Nafiu  Abdulkareem further  called on the next administration to take proactive measures to sensitize students on their civic responsibility in order for them to deliver effectively.


 He noted that the present administration is faced with a lot of financial constraint 


”they should try their possible best to see how they can create a goal for the students, enlighten the students for their responsibility to take in the faculty and the must responsibility for students to take first in the faculty is to pay their dues which you and I know. So if they pay their dues I think that is going to really create a very big impact in every other angle that the next administration needs to tackle on”
