​ The management of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has approved free rides for its members of staff. According to the management, the bus palliative is to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal by the federal government. The intervention is coming after the state governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq also approved the extension of free rides to students and staff of tertiary institutions in the state, among several other multisectoral packages to neutralise the effect of the subsidy removal. AbdulRazaq also approved the payment of N10,000 monthly stipend to all public sector workers to cope with the economic shocks created by the subsidy.
