Abdul Lauds Gov. AbdulRasaq over Appointment of Media Chiefs


The Rector, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Engr. Abdul Jimoh Muhammed has commended the State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq for the appointment of professionals as heads of the state owned media establishments.


The Rector in a statement signed by the Polytechnic Public Relations Officer, Hajia Halimat Garba, described the appointment of Mr. AbdulRasaq Ayobami Akanbi, Mr. Tajudeen Kayode Aremu and Mr. Yomi Clement Adeboye as General Managers of KWTV, Radio Kwara and The Herald Newspaper as the right step in the right direction.


Abdul disclosed that the appointment of Mr. Ayobami Akanbi, a former Director News and Current Affairs Department, KWTV and retired Director of Information Services from the state Ministry of Communication is a reward for his passion for professionalism, honesty, hard work and dedication to duties.


According to the Rector, the re-appointment of Mr. Aremu and Mr. Adeboye who had served in the same capacity before also demonstrated the Governor's passion for putting round pegs in round holes.


Abdul who wished the media chiefs a successful tenure in office, disclosed that the Polytechnic will strive to ensure that the good working relationship between the media outfits and the Polytechnic is maintained.


He also urged the media chiefs to put in their best to justify the confidence reposed in them.
