Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari (CFR), to commemorate Durbar and reconnect not only with the people and friends of Ilorin Emirate but also with their cultural heritage, reminding them of their glorious past to further promote and preserve the people's increasingly vanishing cultural heritage. Durbar festival is usually celebrated on the second day following Eid-Fitri. It begins with prayers, is followed by a horse-drawn parade of the Emir and his entourage, accompanied by musicians, and concludes at the Emir's palace.
