Charges students to keep thriving amidst economic hardship
In a groundbreaking move, the Executive committee of the faculty association of social science students (FASSS) led by Comerade Oyeunmi Joshua has installed two mega notice boards and eight waste baskets across the faculty.
In a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media, Olamide Dare, and copy made available to Prime News, Oyeunmi noted that These additions will provide a much-needed improvement to the faculty, making it easier for students to access important information and to also keep the area clean and tidy.
"The notice boards will display a range of information, including event listings, Faculty cum departmental announcements, and news within the university community. The waste baskets will help to reduce litter and ensure that the faculty remains a pleasant and safe place to work and study."
He commended the faculty task force on sanitation for their efforts in ensuring that the environment remains a clean haven for learning.
"the task force members go round 12noon everyday picking litters . Even when they are not being paid .it's because of the passion they have for neatness that is why they came on board and this has greatly helped to keep the faculty clean.
Oyeunmi also disclosed that this is just the first of many projects it hopes to undertake, and that it is committed to making a real difference to the lives of those who need it most.
"There are many programs that are coming along the way. We have self help programs which will help better improve the livelihood of the students themselves. Programs like security program, awareness programs on some health issues and how to take care of them and how to avoid such issues so just watch out."
Oyeunmi described the state of the nation as precarious , charging students to embrace hope aand keep striving amidst economic hardship.
"this situation that we are in I believe it's a phase that we would pass and it will pass very soon so whatever you are doing don't give up. Just watch, pray and continue to work there is light at the end of every tunnel. So please and please don't give up on yourself."
He encouraged students to read their course materials thoroughly and to seek out additional study resources, such as online tutorials and past papers ahead of the upcoming semester examination.
