The staff of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin have expressed unreserved joy and appreciation to the state governor, Mall. AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq over the rice palliative which they described as a philanthropic gesture by the governor.
Speaking on behalf of the Polytechnic community, the Rector, Engr. Abdul Jimoh Muhammed disclosed that the 180 bags of rice given to the Polytechnic will put smile on the faces of the staff just as other numerous palliatives of the state government have brought succor to many kwarans.
Abdul who commended the free bus rides initiative of the government and #10,000 monthly palliative for state workers stressed that the rice given to the Polytechnic will also neutralize the effects of subsidy removal on the staff of the institution.
He disclosed that the Polytechnic in support of the government efforts had earlier introduced free bus rides for its staff.
Abdul also lauded governor AbdulRahman's efforts on investing in human capital development in order to make the state self-sufficient, boost quality of life and reduce poverty, pledging the Polytechnic's support for governor AbdulRahman's administration at all times.
The Rector promised to distribute the rice judiciously among the junior staff of the institution who are mostly affected by the subsidy removal.
